Every year, the Garden Club invites its friends, neighbors and the community to join us to celebrate all things green and growing! The Garden Walk & Unique Boutique encourages people to get out of the house and explore the beauty of Mother Nature that can be found down the street, around the corner, or even right next door! This annual fundraiser supports the many programs and projects of the Garden Club, including educational scholarships, civic projects, and environmental and conservation programs. We hope that you'll come and share our passion...there are many features to this event, and many opportunities to learn and to grow! Land of the Giants Hosta Farm from Milton, WI will
be a vendor for this year's Boutique.
LGHF has over 2100 different hosta varieties to choose from, with

They are offering a 20% discount to anyone who pre-orders through the AHGardenWalk.com website. Delivery will be made at the Boutique on Garden Walk Sunday.
The sale will begin Monday, May 19th and end Tuesday, June 17th.

Illinois Solar Energy Association
The ISEA Solar House will be on display at the Arlington Heights Garden Club Annual Garden Walk
The Illinois Solar Energy Association (ISEA) Solar House is a self-contained demonstration lab containing both photovoltaic (pv) and solar thermal panels.
The ISEA Solar House, one of the first of its kind, has been displayed at Illinois State Fair and at numerous educational events in Illinois.
The Solar House has three pv panels which are warranted for 25 years. The panels are connected to an inverter, charge controller, breaker box, and batteries inside the house. A typical pv panel of today generates about 250 watts. The house also has an array of solar thermal evacuated tubes. A two-panel solar thermal cluster can supply roughly 60% the hot water needs of a family of four.
Both the pv and solar thermal systems are mounted to the roof with a XRS Rail system.

METROPOLITAN WATER RECLAMATION DISTRICT
The MWRD will be promoting their rain barrel program at the event, which is a part of the MWRD’s green infrastructure initiative. Their mission is to manage stormwater and reduce water pollution in their service area of 883.5 square miles of Cook County, IL.
The District protects the health and safety of the public by protecting the quality of the water supply source (Lake Michigan). It improves the quality of water in watercourses within its service area and protects businesses and homes from flood damage. Managing water as a vital resource is a core principal in every program they offer. The District is committed to achieving the highest standards of excellence in fulfilling its mission.
Ask-An-Arborist
While trees growing in the forest and other natural areas can basically take care of themselves, those growing in cities and suburbs need help staying healthy and beautiful. They contend with air pollution, road salt, confined roots, trunk damage, compacted or poor quality soils, improper pruning and other stresses.

Ryan Oak Sherman, from The Davey Tree Expert Company, is a specialist in caring for trees, shrubs and other woody plants, and is certified by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA). He will be on hand for questions and talking about Trees in the Urban Setting.

Toasty Cheese Mobile Eatery
Toasty Cheese is a mobile food eatery as well as a catering service and will be providing food at the event.
