About the Arlington Heights Garden Club

The Arlington Heights Garden Club was formed almost 60 years ago with the goals of promoting an interest in gardening, encouraging civic beautification through horticulture and conserving natural landscapes and open areas. Our members participate in various activities throughout the year to achieve those goals and to celebrate gardening.

Membership is open to anyone who is interested in gardening, whether they are a beginner or a Master Gardener. There is always something to share! Everyone is welcome! We invite you to join us for a meeting. From September through May, we meet at the library on the 3rd Monday of the month, (except December). Guest speakers present informational and inspirational programs on a wide variety of topics including attracting wildlife and birds to your yard, floral arranging, conservation concerns and even fairy gardens. The quality of our programs is amazing! During the summer months, we move outdoor and into members gardens to observe, to share and to steal ideas!

Throughout the year, special events are scheduled to fulfill our missions. We support Earth Day activities at local schools and participate in Arbor Day events. Craft workshops are conducted to explore and develop new skills. Members of the club create ornaments and display items to decorate holiday trees at the library, the senior center and other locations around town. Our civics committee is responsible for the planning, planting and maintenance of the gardens on the grounds of the Arlington Heights Historical Society. We have assisted with other public gardens, as well. The annual Garden Walk & Unique Boutique is our celebration with the community for all things green and growing. It is our primary fundraiser and all monies raised are used to fund our scholarship programs, conduct conservation and environmental / awareness and protection programs, and to provide support for club activities.

We hope that you’ll join us for our day. It is exciting to be part of this community, growing together!
